The 'Yellowstone' actor reportedly confronted tech entrepreneur Daniel Starr, who rented his guesthouse on his California estate, following a fallout with his wife Christine Baumgartner.

AceShowbiz - Prior to trying to evict his estranged wife from his estate, Kevin Costner reportedly confronted a tenant who got too close to Christine Baumgartner. The actor reportedly tried to kick out tech entrepreneur Daniel Starr from his $60,000-plus-a-month beachfront guesthouse in California before she filed for divorce from him.

According to The Sun, Daniel signed a 12-month lease in June 2022. While he was living there, Kevin was away filming and Daniel had been regularly hanging out with Christine. Daniel reportedly even had a close relationship with all of Kevin's children, particularly his older son Joe, 35.

"Daniel was really happy living in the house. It's right on the beach and he has a four-year-old son who he wanted to feel settled," a source told the outlet. "After he moved in he became close friends with Chris and Kevin. They'd hang out together with their kids. But Kevin was always away filming, so Chris must have been lonely."

"Chris and Daniel hung out a lot. She would come into his house almost daily," the source added. But things turned sour following a fallout between Christine and Daniel. While the source claimed Daniel is a "respectful guy" and did not cross any lines, "Chris didn't like Daniel's attitude towards their friendship."

"But there was a fallout and Kevin got wind of it. There was a row between him and Daniel and things escalated from there," the source shared. "She texted him and said she wanted him out."

Daniel, who was just six months into his tenancy, tried to calm the situation. The source dished, "Daniel was really upset. He loved living there and felt he’d done nothing wrong. That's when he brought his lawyer in."

"Daniel thought really highly of Kevin and thought he was an excellent father to his kids. But Kevin hit the roof and sided with his wife," the source claimed. "Ultimately, he wasn't willing to hear Daniel out."

Daniel eventually packed his bags and moved out of Kevin's guesthouse in March this year, cutting his lease short by three months.

Kevin is currently in the middle of divorce with Christine after she filed to end their marriage on May 31. His rep has shut down any allegations that he was unfaithful to his wife during their marriage, telling Yahoo in a statement last month, "Any suggestion of infidelity on the part of Mr. Costner is absolutely not true."

It was recently reported that the 68-year-old star is trying to get his estranged wife out of his estate. He claimed that according to their prenup, Christine had 30 days to vacate the home he owns, but she still hasn't moved out of the house.

He also said that he's already given his ex a whopping $1.2 million per his obligations under the prenup and the amount he's shelled out has grown to around $1.45 million, which he claims is more than enough for her to find somewhere else to live.

In response to his request, Christine's attorney John Rydell said "The Bodyguard" actor has no "legal basis" to kick out his ex. "Although the legal basis for Kevin's request to kick his wife and children out of their home is all but nonexistent, this is still a matter of critical importance for Christine," John wrote in a court document.
