Words are the 'Look What You Made Me Do' songstress will be added to the cast of the confirmed Disney movie sequel, which is said to be planned as a musical.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift may soon add another acting credit to her resume. While busy preparing to release her new album "Midnights", the singer/actress has been reported to be eying a role in a Disney movie sequel.

Words are the country-turned-pop superstar will be joining the cast of "Cruella 2". According to The DisInsider, the 32-year-old will antagonize the movie as she's set to star in a role that is described as "Cruella's match."

Details of the role are still scarce as the site notes that the news "should be taken with a grain of salt." However, the outlet points out that the casting news seems to corroborate one of Deuxmoi's recent "blind items," which claimed, "This A+ singer who has a minor appearance in Cruella (very tiny, you probably haven't even noticed) might have a larger part in the sequel... "

As fans of the 2021 movie may recall, Swift appears in a scene which features an image of what appears to be the "Shake It Off" hitmaker plastered on the wall. The site also reports that the upcoming sequel is being planned as a musical, which means it could benefit from Swift's singing prowess.

The "Cruella" sequel was confirmed last July by Paul Walter Hauser, who played thief Horace Badun in the origin story for the evil "101 Dalmatians" character Cruella de Vil. The 35-year-old actor revealed that the upcoming movie is due to head into production in 2023.

Hauser told Forbes, "I'm told we're doing it next year. I don't know when but I think Tony McNamara is writing the script right now. He's probably tinkering away with that. We got to work around the ever-busy schedule of Craig Gillespie and Emma Stone, who are worth the wait, so anytime they want to do it, I'll be there." Stone is expected to reprise the title role.

As for Swift, she recently announced at the 2022 MTV VMAs that her new album "Midnights" will arrive on October 21. She last graced the big screen through the widely-panned "Cats" musical adaptation and will next appear in David O. Russell's star-studded mystery comedy film "Amsterdam".
