It's still being a mystery, however, whether the project will be a real movie or just the extended, cinematic version of the Spotify exclusive video for Selena's latest single.
Does Selena Gomez produce a film named after her single "Bad Liar"? That's what the former Disney star hints on her Instagram account. She has taken to the photo-sharing platform to reveal three exact same posters for the alleged film. The first caption reads, "Wednesday," while the second reads, "Coming soon." She simply captions the third, "#BadLiar - a film."
Selena recently released a Spotify exclusive music video for "Bad Liar". So by making the announcement, the pop star has definitely created storm on the Internet. Many fans speculate it will only be an extended, cinematic video for the song, while others hope that it will be a real movie project. Fortunately, we don't have to wait much longer as the new project will reportedly arrive tomorrow on Wednesday, June 14.
Judging from the credit, it will most likely be a film. It credits Jesse Peretz as the director, who's known for his work on "Orange Is the New Black" and "Girls". The credit also lists Selena Gomez, Selena Gomez and Selena Gomez as the stars, so we can expect her to play multiple characters in the upcoming film or simply be the only person in it.
Selena has been on an endless string of radio interviews to promote "Bad Liar", but oddly, she hasn't mentioned the movie project. It comes as no surprise, though, because she seemingly enjoys being mysterious, including about her music.
"I spent a year in the studio, and now I'm putting all of these pieces together, and it's coming a lot faster than people think," she previously said in an interview. "But that's what makes it great, because there's a little mystery to it, and it sounds so separate from everything else I've done. I mean, from the Kygo record, to 'Bad Liar' and the next thing that's after 'Bad Liar' is so separate from that, it's just me trying to figure out where it's gonna go."
But rest assured, Selenators, the "Same Old Love" hitmaker has promised to release new music soon. "I don't really have a set plan, but a lot of new music is coming for sure," she added.
