AceShowbiz - Gigi and Bella Hadid's dad Mohamed is facing jail time over his troubled Bel-Air mansion. Radar Online has reported that a judge has ordered the 68-year-old real estate developer to stand trial over his mega-mansion which has been facing legal issues for years.

The stunning models' millionaire dad, who bought property in the celeb-filled neighborhood back in 2011, is in the process of building a 30,000 sq. ft. home which has been nicknamed Starship Enterprise. He's been charged with criminally violating building regulations during construction.

On Tuesday, May 9, Mohamed failed to appear in a Los Angeles Country court. The judge ordered him to stand trial for three charges of breaching building codes and refusing to comply with the city's orders to stop construction. Each charge could get Mohamed a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail.

Los Angeles City Attorney Tina Hess blasted Mohamed's delay tactics, saying he had "for five years thumbed his nose at the city ... and his neighbors," while continuing with the illegal construction of the property.

Mohamed's attorneys, Robert Shapiro and Donald Re, pleaded with the judge on his behalf to continue the case. Robert asked the judge not to allow cameras in the courtroom, saying, "This is not a matter of great public interest. In my experience, when you have cameras in the courtroom, it only delays proceedings."

Mohamed's trial is scheduled to begin on May 30.
