The 'Thinking Out Loud' singer is confirmed to kick off the new year of 2017 with brand new music this week.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran's fans rejoice! The gingerhead musician has just revealed when he's going to drop his new music. After taking a yearlong break from social media, the British singer/songwriter is back online holding up a paper that announces release date for his song.
Sheeran is currently working on his next studio installment to follow up his 2014 critically-acclaimed album "x". In a brief video to wish his fans a happy new year, he confirms that he will release his track on January 6, "New music coming Friday."
When taking a hiatus from social media, Sheeran explained that he turned off his phone to "travel the world and see everything I missed." He decided to take a timeout because he realized that he had started "seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes."
