Marlene King would like to wrap up the girls' stories at the end of season 7, which will debut next year.

AceShowbiz - ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars" is seeing an end. Marlene King who created the series said in an interview that the seventh season could be the final installment.

The series, starring Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson among others, was renewed for two more seasons in summer 2014. The sixth season is halfway through and will return on January 12. Several cast and King herself had talked about extending the show up to eighth season in the past but it looks like King is changing her mind.

King thought season 7 could be the last due to the five-year time jump to debut next month. "I think that this story when we're back will end next year at the at end of Season 7," King told Variety. When asked for a confirmation whether she wanted it to end and not go beyond that, King replied, "Correct."

ABC Family, which is soon to transform into Freeform, is yet to announce plans for the series. Meanwhile, there were talks about creating a movie out of it. "There's rumors of maybe a movie," Hale told E! News in November last year. "But in seven seasons we'll definitely end the show."

In other news, Australian actor David Coussins has been cast as Hanna's fiance named Jordan whom she met during a vacation in Europe. Described as "down-to-earth," he works in fashion industry. Jordan will appear in season 6B which premieres next month.
