The British singer also shares her opinion on streaming in general and praises Taylor Swift in Time's 'The Year Ahead' issue which features her on the cover.

AceShowbiz - In this era where people enjoy music by streaming it, Adele broke her fans' hearts after she revealed last month that she wouldn't make her new album "25" available on services like Spotify or Apple Music. She later explained her controversial decision as she spoke to Time Magazine for its "The Year Ahead" issue which she covered.

"I believe music should be an event," she told the publication. "For me, all albums that come out, I'm excited about leading up to release day. I don't use streaming. I buy my music. I download it, and I buy a physical [copy] just to make up for the fact that someone else somewhere isn't."

"It's a bit disposable, streaming," she continued. "I know that streaming music is the future, but it's not the only way to consume music. I can't pledge allegiance to something that I don't know how I feel about yet."

"I'm proud of my decision," she added. "I would have been proud even if the album flopped. I would have been proud because I stuck to my guns, and I think it's really important as an artist that you do that."

Adele also offered her opinion on Taylor Swift, who famously removed her music from Spotify and later made Apple pay royalties to artists during the free 3-month trial of their Apple Music. "It was amazing," she said. "I love her - how powerful she is. We'll get lumped together now because of it, but I think we would both feel the ability to say yes or no to things even if we weren't successful."
