'Supergirl' Gets Full Season Order From CBS

The Melissa Benoist-starring show will now get a full season of 20 episodes from The Eye.

AceShowbiz - After airing six episodes, CBS now announces an order for seven more episodes of "Supergirl". The latest additions will provide a full season of 20 episodes for the DC superhero freshman drama that was launched by The Eye on October 26.

The series stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, and Calista Flockhart among others. It averages 11.24 million viewers with 2.8/08 in adults 18-49 and 3.5/09 in adults 25-54 demo.

Airing on Mondays, the show is expected to feature a young Clark Kent at one point in the future. There are also chatters about "The Flash" crossover in a storyline about New Krypton. "Supergirl" joins three other CBS new fall series that got additional episode orders. They are "Life in Pieces", "Limitless", and "Code Black".
