AceShowbiz - "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" and "Star Wars" anthology movie "Rogue One" have more in common than just the title if Latino-Review could be trusted. "Rogue Nation" writer Christopher McQuarrie has reportedly been hired to polish the script for "Rogue One".
Gary Whitta ("After Earth", "The Book of Eli") was originally attached to pen the screenplay but he left the project. Simon Kinberg was later rumored to take over the job but Chris Weitz ("Cinderella") eventually landed the scriptwriting gig.
Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Claflin, Riz MC, Diego Luna, and Forest Whitaker will star in the movie. Gareth Edwards serves as a director. The sci-fi adventure movie is slated for a release in North America on December 16, 2016.
