The R 'n' B artist admitted that she was surprised when asked to cover the iconic rock song for 'The Last Witch Hunter' but truly honored.

AceShowbiz - Ciara boldly covered The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" and made it grim. The "I Bet" singer is expanding her artistry for the cover song that makes the soundtrack to Vin Diesel-starring flick "The Last Witch Hunter".

In a statement Ciara said she's "honored to have been asked to cover such an iconic song by one of music's greatest bands." She added, " 'Paint It Black' matches the film's mystical and suspenseful plot perfectly. The film and song have the magical recipe that combines romanticism with a touch of black! I cannot wait to see and hear the film and the song on the big screen with the rest of the world."

Ciara admitted that it seems like an odd choice to have an R 'n' B artist covering the 1966 rock track. "...To be honest with you, it was actually a surprise for me when I got the call from Universal Publishing and Lionsgate," she said in an interview with RollingStone.com. "When they asked me to do this, I was like, 'Absolutely. This would be an honor.' I had never thought to cover this song. It was never on my radar to cover it, but when the opportunity came along, I was very thrilled, because I love what the producer Adrianne Gonzales did."

She continued, "The direction that she went in was actually a sound I've always wanted to play with, and it just didn't get any better than being able to cover a Rolling Stones song. I feel like it pushes the edge and the limit for me, in reference to what people probably expect from me. So this was so many cool things in one. It was a huge honor, and then creatively I just got to really have some fun that I don't usually do in my music."

Ciara is also gearing up for the second leg of her "Jackie" Tour. She will start at her hometown of Atlanta on November 27 and wrap it up in Anaheim on December 20. Her live streamed performance can be watched through Yahoo.com/Live.
