The new promo video shows Hugh Glass coping with a vicious animal attack, a cruel betrayal, and the loss of a family member.

AceShowbiz - The first full trailer for true-story movie "The Revenant" is released for viewing pleasure. It gives a better look at the ordeals faced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Hugh Glass. The legendary explorer gets attacked by a wild bear and betrayed by his confidant John Fitzgerald.

Glass vows to seek revenge after he, seriously injured after the vicious animal attack, is buried alive and his son is killed by Tom Hardy's Fitzgerald. "We did what we had to do. He was buried right," Fitzgerald tells his hunting pals after leaving Glass for dead.

Directed by Oscar winner Alejandro G. Inarritu, the movie follows Hugh Glass in an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness. Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, he must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

"The Revenant" is also supported by Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter. It will make its way out in the United States on December 25. It has cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki who won an Academy Award two years in a row for Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" and Inarritu's "Birdman" each.
