On his first day of school, Harry and Ginny's oldest son is confirmed by J.K. Rowling to get sorted into the same house as his parents.

AceShowbiz - J.K. Rowling gives update on Harry Potter's family although she is no longer continuing the wizarding story. The author first wishes Harry's son, James Sirius, good luck on his first day at Hogwarts and later reveals that the young wizard is following his parents' footsteps.

"I'm in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King's Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He's starting at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts," she tweets to her 5 million followers, reminding fans that today, based on the novel, is the first day of school for young James.

Rowling later confirms fans' speculation that the oldest son of Harry and Ginny has landed in the Gryffindor house, "Have just heard that James S Potter has been Sorted (to nobody's surprise) into Gryffindor. Teddy Lupin (Head Boy, Hufflepuff) disappointed."

To a fan who claims to be on the same train as young James and have said hello to him, Rowling replies, "Say 'hi' back, but only if it won't interrupt any burgeoning friendships." As many fans follow, she quickly adds, "Now worried that he'll be irritated by the number of people saying hi."

Earlier this month, J.K. Rowling who wrote the screenplay for "Harry Potter" movie spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" also revealed a sad truth about the fan-favorite giant, Hagrid. She said he "couldn't produce a Patronus" because "it's a very difficult spell."
