The trailer for the third installment of 'Kung Fu Panda' movie series pokes some fun at 'Star Wars' franchise, featuring a Darth Vader-like breathing sound.

AceShowbiz - After releasing some concept arts, DreamWorks Animation debuted a new trailer for "Kung Fu Panda 3". The one-minute trailer entitled "A Father Rises" features a ridiculous reference to "Star Wars".

The video opens with a tagline, "Nothing can prepare you to for the return of the legend." With a familiar deep breathing, someone says, "I am your father." It sounds identical to Darth Vader's declaration to Luke Skywalker. The trailer later reveals Li, Po's long-lost father, who looks exhausted approaching his son after ascending the stairs.

The third installment of "Kung Fu Panda" movie franchise centers on Po facing a greatest challenge ever, pleasing 2 fathers. As soon as he finds out that his biological father is still alive, Po returns to his birthplace in a panda village. When an evil spirit called Kai a.k.a. The Collector emerges, Po has to do the impossible-learn to train a village full of Pandas in order to beat the enemy who is able to steal the powers of every Kung Fu Master he defeats.

The studio had previously released some photos which give a look at the hidden panda village along with its inhabitants and a female panda named Mei Mei (voiced by Rebel Wilson), who appears to be a ribbon dancer.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who directed "Kung Fu Panda 2". Bryan Cranston, Wilson and Mads Mikkelsen will join the returning voice cast members such as Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, David Cross and Lucy Liu. The animated comedy is scheduled for a release in U.S. theaters on January 29, 2016.
