Lucasfilm's president Kathleen Kennedy confirms rumors that another 'Indiana Jones' movie 'will one day be made inside this company.'

AceShowbiz - There are indeed talks to make a new "Indiana Jones" movie. Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, confirms in an interview with Vanity Fair that a new installment of the movie franchise "will one day be made inside this company."

Kennedy, however, stresses that "Indiana Jones V" is still in early development. "When it will happen, I'm not quite sure," the studio's boss says, before adding, "We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."

Talks about the fifth film have been going on for years and they intensify after Disney owned the rights to the franchise following Lucasfilm takeover in 2012. The Mouse House acquired distribution rights to any future installment while Paramount which distributed the first four films will receive an undisclosed financial share.

Created by George Lucas, the "Indiana Jones" series kicked off with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981. It was followed by "The Temple of Doom" in 1984, "The Last Crusade" in 1989, and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in 2008. Steven Spielberg directed all the four films with Harrison Ford on the lead. The movies combined have grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide.
