MTV Sets 'Teen Wolf' Return Date, Renews 'Faking It' and Debuts New 'Scream' Promo

At its upfront presentation in NYC, the network also announced that it picked up new late-night comedy talk show 'Middle of the Night Show'.

AceShowbiz - MTV made some major announcements at its annual upfront presentation in NYC on Tuesday afternoon, April 21. Among the highlights was the return of "Teen Wolf". The upcoming fifth season will kick-off with a two-night premiere on Monday, June 29 at 10 P.M. and Tuesday, June 30 at 9 P.M.

According to the official description of the new season, "on the eve of senior year, Scott and his friends find themselves facing the possibility of a future without each other, a next phase of their lives that might take them in different directions despite their best intentions. Little do they know that outside forces are already plotting to break the pack apart long before graduation."

The night-two season premiere of "Teen Wolf" will be followed by new series "Scream" debut at 10 P.M. A new promo as well as the official story description have been released. It reads, "After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens - with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart - become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who's out for blood."

MTV has additionally renewed "Faking It" for a third season. The network also greenlit late-night comedy talk show "Middle of the Night Show" and renewed "Broke A$$ Game Show" and "Are You the One?" for a second season and a third season respectively.

The network's summer line-up includes "Girl Code" season 4 (June 3), "Catfish: The TV Show" season 4B (July 8), "Teen Mom 2" season 6 (July 9), "One Bad Choice" (July 9), "Faking It" season 2B (August 31), "Todrick" (August 31) and "Awkward" season 5 (August 31).

Other new shows on MTV's slate are "The Shannara Chronicles" based on the best-selling fantasy book series by Terry Brooks and comedic half-hour docu-series "Follow the Rules". Comedy series "The Logan Paul Show", meanwhile, is still in development at the network.
