Representatives for both stars confirm that despite their separation, Sean and Grande 'deeply care for each other and remain close friends.'

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande and Big Sean are no longer a couple. The lovers have called it quits after eight months of dating.

Representatives for both singers confirmed in a joint statement to Us Weekly that despite the separation, "they both deeply care for each other and remain close friends." The representatives added, "We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."

The reason behind Grande and Sean's separation was not disclosed. Meanwhile, insiders close to the now-former-lovers claimed they "very quietly and amicably ended their relationship a few weeks ago." A source revealed, "They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year."

Grande and Sean began dating last year and they first confirmed that they were a couple in October. In January, they were hit with breakup rumors but shot them down by posting PDA-filled snaps on Instagram.

On April 4, Sean shared a cryptic message on Twitter which read, "Just know I love u and I care for ya." Grande echoed his sentiments via Twitter early Thursday, April 9, writing, "Love u babes the most. You just can't imagine."
