'Good Times' Star Ben Powers Dies at 64

The actor who is best known for playing BerNadette Stanis' husband on the '70s sitcom passed away on April 6 in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

AceShowbiz - Ben Powers, the actor who is best known for starring as Keith Anderson on '70s sitcom "Good Times", died at the age of 64 on April 6 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. His family announced the sad news by posting an obituary on Auclair Funeral Home's website.

BerNadette Stanis, who played Ben's wife Thelma Evans on the beloved sitcom, paid tribute to the actor on Facebook. "My condolences goes out to the family of Ben Powers who past a few days ago. He was a great actor and great friend who is gone too soon. He will be missed by many. Until next lifetime my friend," she wrote alongside a throwback photo of her and Ben on "Good Times".

Ben joined the cast of "Good Times" for its sixth and final season. Besides "Good Times", he was a cast member on comedy show "Laugh-In" and had a regular role as "Moochie" on CBS's 1984 detective drama "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer".

His big-screen credits included "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie", "Things Are Tough All Over" and "The Man Who Loved Women".

Ben is survived by his mother and two sisters Yvonne Brown and Maya Breuer. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Ben will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. in Rhode Island.
