Audra McDonald Joining Cast of Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'

The actress is in final talks to portray the role of Garderobe, the singing wardrobe closet, in the Bill Condon-directed film.

AceShowbiz - Disney is about to add Audra McDonald into the cast of its upcoming live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast (2017)." The actress reportedly is in final negotiations to star in the upcoming film which has already had Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, and Luke Evans on board to star.

Should a deal be sealed, McDonald will be getting into the shoes of Garderobe, the singing wardrobe closet. Production on the Bill Condon-directed film is slated to be kicked off May later this year at Shepperton Studios in London. Release date has not yet been set.

The story of "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" will center on a young woman who takes her father's place as a prisoner in a monstrous being's castle, only to fall in love with the creature. Watson has been tapped to play the titular character Beauty, while Stevens portrays the Beast. Evans is cast as the villainous Gaston, and Gad will star as his buffoonish sidekick LeFou.
