AceShowbiz - Linda Caan, the soon to be ex-wife of James Caan, has fired back at his petition for divorce. She filed her own divorce papers on Friday, January 23, asking for spousal support and a primary custody of their 16-year-old son, Jacob.
James filed for divorce from Linda on January 8. He cited irreconcilable difference as reason of the split. James reportedly asks for joint custody of Jacob and wants to terminate financial support to Linda.
This is third time James has filed divorce papers to separate from Linda. The first was filed in 2005 and the second was in 2009. However each case was dropped because they ended up reconciling.
James and Linda have two sons together. They are James, 19, and Jacob, who is the only minor in the family. They don't have a prenuptial agreement. Without a prenup, the divorce will likely be a mess. It will be costly on James' side.
Linda is James' fourth wife. The couple married on October 7, 1995. Before marrying Linda, the star of "The Godfather" had married and divorced three times. He has kids with his ex-wives. One of his children is actor Scott Caan, his son with Sheila Marie Ryan who happens to the ex-girlfriend of Elvis Presley. Scott starred in movies like "Lonely Hearts" and "Ocean's Thirteen", and is currently a series regular on CBS' "Hawaii Five-0".
