AceShowbiz - Neil deGrasse Tyson gets his own TV show. After fronting National Geographic's "Cosmos" in 2014, the astrophysicist in now officially tapped as a host for the network's late-night show. Based on Tyson's popular podcast of the same name, "Star Talk" will become the first ever talk show for NatGeo.

The new show will bridge the intersection between pop culture and science as it brings together celebrities, comedians and scientists to discuss the latest developments in the universe. "Wouldn't it be cool if Zombies & Vampires became human if we bit them first? Somebody needs to test that hypothesis," Tyson recently tweeted.

" 'Cosmos' allowed us to share the awesome power of the universe with a global audience in ways that we never thought possible," he says. "To be able to continue to spread wonder and excitement through Star Talk, which is a true passion project for me, is beyond exciting. And National Geographic Channel is the perfect home as we continue to explore the universe."

The show will be taped in front of a live studio audience at the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium in New York City. It's scheduled to premiere in April.
