In response to a fan's question if there are Jews at Hogwarts, the author confirms Anthony Goldstein from House of Ravenclaw is in fact a Jew.

AceShowbiz - J.K. Rowling gave a nice surprise to fans this Hanukkah. The British author has revealed there's at least one Jewish wizard in the Harry Potter universe. ".@benjaminroffman Anthony Goldstein, Ravenclaw, Jewish wizard," she tweeted in response to a fan's question if there are any Jews at Hogwarts.

Anthony Goldstein from House of Ravenclaw is featured in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". He also appears in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in an epic battle against Voldemort and the Death Eaters when Hogwarts is under attack.

Rowling added that all religions/beliefs are represented in "Harry Potter", except for the Wiccan faith. She wrote, "To everyone asking whether their religion/belief/non-belief system is represented at Hogwarts: the only people I never imagined there are Wiccans."

Rowling has been releasing several new entries on pottermore.com from December 12-23. Most recently, she shared which "Harry Potter" character's death she regretted the most.

She said she felt guilty for killing off Florean Fortescue, owner of the Diagon Alley ice cream parlor. "I originally planned Florean to be the conduit for clues that I needed to give Harry during his quest for the Hallows, which is why I established an acquaintance fairly early on," she explained. "The problem was that when I came to write the key parts of Deathly Hallows, I decided that Phineas Nigellus Black was a much more satisfactory means of conveying clues."

"I seemed to have him kidnapped and killed for no good reason. He is not the first wizard whom Voldemort murdered because he knew too much (or too little), but he is the only one I feel guilty about, because it was all my fault."
