The British/Irish boyband promises that 'FOUR', set for November 17, will be their 'most different sounding album.'

AceShowbiz - Four years since Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne first performed together as One Direction, the boys are returning with their fourth album. The record that's aptly titled "FOUR" is coming on Monday, November 17, just one week after they won multiple MTV EMAs including for Best Live Act and Best Pop Act.

The group was on the world tour to promote their 2013 album "Midnight Memories" when they began working on their new effort. Since announcing the project earlier this year, they have been telling fans that the project will be maturer than their previous LPs.

While their songs are mostly still about girls, love and having a good time, they have said their music will sound different. "There's a good balance," Tomlinson said in a recent interview with Billboard. "It's definitely our most different sounding album. We've definitely tried to keep it different, really."

"We tried to keep what is our sound, but just grow with it, as we're obviously more grown up. Grown a bit more facial hair," Malik joked. "Our lyrics need to get a little bit older as well. We want to grow with our fan base."

"Some of the songs have got kind of a classic, natural [sound]. Quite simple, some of the songs. Not too overproduced," Tomlinson added.

"FOUR" has been preceded by singles "Steal My Girl" and "Night Changes". The boys have also teased the album by releasing promo tracks like "Fireproof", "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" and "18". The latter was written by fellow British act Ed Sheeran. After releasing the album, the dudes are shifting their focus on another world tour which kicks off next year.
