'Song of the Sea' Trailer Dives Into Irish Folklore

The last Seal-child and her brother are finding their way home by the sea in the animated movie from director Tomm Moore.

AceShowbiz - The full trailer for animated movie "Song of the Sea" has arrived for viewing pleasure. It gives a glimpse at the life story of Saoirse, a child who is the last of the selkies or women in Irish and Scottish legends who transform from seals into people.

Taking inspiration from Irish folklore, the movie follows the little girl and her brother Ben as they flee their grandmother's home and embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea.

Coming from Tomm Moore, the director of Oscar-nominated "The Secret of Kells", the film is led by voice cast such as Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, David Rawle and Lisa Hannigan. It has premiered at several film festivals including TIFF, and will hit limited theaters in the U.S. on December 19.
