The 'Gone Girl' actor disagrees with the 'Real Time with Bill Maher' host who compares Islam to mafia and Sam Harris who refers Islam as 'the motherload of bad ideas.'

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck got into a heated debate over radical Muslims when the topic came up during his recent visit to "Real Time with Bill Maher". The "Gone Girl" actor defended Islam against the host, Bill Maher, and his guests as they couldn't see eye to eye on the issue.
"We can criticize Christians...but when you want to talk about the treatment of women, homosexuals and free thinkers in the Muslim world, liberals have failed us," said one of the guests, Sam Harris. "The crucial point of confusion is we have been sold this meme of Islamaphobia - where every criticism of the doctrine of Islam gets conflated with bigotry towards Muslims as people, which is intellectually ridiculous."
Affleck, who did not share the same views, responded, "Hold on - are you the person who officially understands the codified doctrine of Islam?" "[Your characterization] is gross. It's racist," he slammed Harris. "It's like saying, 'Oh, you shifty Jew!' " When the author insisted that Islam was "the motherload of bad ideas," the actor reacted, "It's just an ugly thing to say."
The argument continued as Maher supported Harris by comparing Islam as Mafia. "It's the only religion that acts like the mafia that will f**king kill you if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture, or write the wrong book," the host said, to which Affleck fired back, "What is your solution? That we condemn Islam?"
