The band says in a statement posted on their official website that the album will be the first AC/DC project without Young, who announced he took a break earlier this year due to illness.

AceShowbiz - AC/DC is releasing a new album later this year. The rock band announced in a statement posted on their official website on Wednesday, September 24 that their new LP would be titled "Rock or Bust" and it would arrive on December 2.

The album will feature 11 tracks they recorded last Spring at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC. The Australian rockers reunited with producer Brendan O'Brien and mixer Mike Fraser for what will be their first studio effort since 2008's "Black Ice".

In the statement, they also announced the departure of one of its members. They said the forthcoming LP would be the first AC/DC project without founding member Malcolm Young who had been taking a break from the group due to illness before finally deciding to quit.

"Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's condition, he will not be returning to the band," they wrote.

They went on revealing they would embark on a world tour in 2015 to support the new album. "Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on 'Rock or Bust' and will accompany the band on tour," they continued.
