AceShowbiz - "Ender's Game" story may continue on television. During a quarterly studio conference call on Friday, November 8, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed that a TV spin-off to the sci-fi action movie was under consideration as they're still undecided about the follow-up to the Asa Butterfield-starring film.
Feltheimer said the studio would "wait another week or two" before making the decision on a sequel. The Gavin Hood-directed pic, which is based on Orson Scott Card's novel, has raked in $41 million worldwide out of its estimated $110 million budget, but Feltheimer said that the film had been performing "virtually on base" with internal expectations.
"Ender's Game" received negative publicity before its release, with a pro-LGBT group named Geeks Out protesting against the film due to Card's anti-gay views. The group urged people not to watch the film.
To put an end to the community's plan to boycott the movie, Lionsgate released a statement that announced that it would host a benefit premiere to prove its commitment to the LGBT community.
