John Dubis, a former firefighter, spent almost a week in J.Lo's pool house in Hamptons before being taken into custody on August 8.
John Dubis, a man who was already slapped with restraining order by Jennifer Lopez, is apparently still obsessed with the singer. The 49-year-old male was recently arrested after being found camping at J.Lo's Water Mill mansion in Hamptons for several days early this month.
The former firefighter allegedly slept in J.Lo's couch. He parked his car out front, posted photos from inside the pool house on Facebook under the name "David A. Lopez," and took time to clean up her backyard. Despite the security guards patrolling the pool house, he reportedly spent six days in there unnoticed.
The Rhode Island native was arrested on August 8 and taken in for a psychiatric evaluation in Riverhead. He was booked for burglary, stalking, criminal contempt and possession of burglary tools. He pled not guilty, and is currently in the slammer at the Suffolk County Jail on $100,000 bail. A court hearing is scheduled for August 28.
Neighbors who saw Dubis in J.Lo's house thought the man was her employee. "Oh, my, come to think of it, I did find it odd when I saw a man standing outside her driveway with the gate closed," one neighbor Nancy Haverman told New York Post. "I figured he was just part of her security crew."
After dodging the security for several days, Dubis was finally spotted by her employee in the back porch. He claimed to be her husband when being confronted. He later told cops he was a father of her children and a welcome guest in the house.
Earlier this year, J.Lo obtained an order of protection against the male stalker after he allegedly contacted her mother and claimed to be her son. He was charged with stalking and burglary. He also underwent psychiatric evaluation.
The "On the Floor" hitmaker was away when the uninvited guest was there. Her spokesperson Mark Young says he hasn't heard about the matter. The singer is currently vacationing in the Hamptons, the rep adds.
