NBC's 'Siberia' Pre-Empted by Royal Baby Coverage

NBC's 'Siberia' Pre-Empted by Royal Baby Coverage

A new episode of the freshman drama is moved to next Monday to give room to news special about the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's son.

Royal Baby's birth has taken over the spotlight in all media, and TV networks are no exception. On Monday, several major U.S. networks have decided to pre-empt their regular programmings in favor of coverage of the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's son.

NBC confirmed via Twitter that it bumped a new episode of "Siberia" titled "Fire in the Sky" to July 29. In place of it, the Peacock airs a one-hour "Dateline" special, hosted by Natalie Morales, which provides "viewers with an intimate look inside the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."

Meanwhile, ABC pre-empts a "Body of Proof" rerun for "The Royal Baby: Heir to the Throne". Hosted by Barbara Walters, the special edition of "20/20" will air on Tuesday, July 23 at 10 P.M.

No one cares that the pointless royal family had a baby. There is no way I would watch an hour long show about it. What crap.

Oh yes. Yes indeed. This "Breaking News EVENT" so warrants hour-long 'specials' and continual 'news coverage.' Hey, NEWSFLASH guys! Are you E! Entertainment and the Enquirer or (once) respected news orgainizations and networks?! Women have babies every bloody day! This is literally a by-line that should take up 30 to 60 seconds. But no. Now we live in a Post-Kardashian world. I miss the days of an apocalypse around every corner....
