'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Producer Eyes Movie Based on Marcus Sakey's Book 'Brilliance'
Joe Roth is attached to produce the 'Brilliance' movie about gifted federal agent Nick Cooper who's tasked to hunt a dangerous terrorist.

A movie based on superpowered thriller book "Brilliance" is in the works at Legendary Pictures. Fresh of his big success with Disney's fantasy adventure flick "Oz: The Great and Powerful", Joe Roth is linked to the project with his producing partner Palek Pate at Roth Films. They will be joined by Alex Hedlund from Legendary.

Written by Marcus Sakey who has been nominated for or won an Anthony, Barry, Macavity, and ITW Thriller Award, "Brilliance" has received glowing reviews. It tells a gripping tale of a world fundamentally different and yet horrifyingly similar to our own, where being born gifted can be a terrible curse.

The story will center on federal agent Nick Cooper who tracks down terrorists with his exceptional gift. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant who's seeking to provoke a civil war. The book is scheduled to be released on July 16 this year.
