Michael Scott 'Cactus' Moser loses his leg and undergoes surgery to his hand after seriously injured in an accident happening on August 18.

AceShowbiz - Wynonna Judd gave update on her drummer husband's condition after he got into a serious motorcycle accident last Saturday, August 18. Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser injured his leg and hand after the motorbike he rode collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Malibu during his way to Deadwood, SD.

"Moser's left leg was severed at the scene of the accident and doctors in Rapid City, SD amputated the leg above the knee. He has also undergone surgery to his hand. Judd and Moser appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans," read a statement on her official website.

Cactus and Wynonna rode separate motorcycles back then, and she was not involved in the accident. They were on their ways to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel & Casino for her scheduled performance when his bike drifted across the center line and hit the Chevy coming in the opposite direction.

Cactus' bike hit the driver's side door of the Chevy. He was taken to a Regional Hospital Rapid City by helicopter, while the car driver, 59-year-old Michael Bruce of Rapid City, reportedly refused to get medical treatment. Wynonna postponed her Deadwood gig and several upcoming concerts in Canada to be by her husband's side. "Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side," she said.
