Although the cause of death is still reported as an 'accident', some French media said that the roof of his house collapsed.
It is now a confirmed story that world renowned DJ Mehdi has died at the age of 34. The cause of death is not revealed by his publicist but some reported that he had an accident at his home in France.
Mehdi, whose real name is Mehdi Faveris-essad has in his career collaborated with Daft Punk, Carol King and Chromeo among others. He rose to fame in the '90s when he performed with a group named Different Teep. Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk recently reworked Mehdi's single "Signatune" which has sold 9,000 downloads in the U.S.
"We lost our brother. No words," Chromeo wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. Drake also wrote on the microblogging site, "Damn...RIP MEHDI".
Several French media outlets are reporting that the DJ fell off of a roof at his home in France. The roof collapsed and he fell to his death.
DJ Mehdi is survived by his wife, French graffiti artist Fafi.
