Jay Leno poked fun at Casey Anthony verdict on his "Tonight Show", but he failed to amuse his audience. The host's satirical joke, in which he tried to compare the Florida jury to President Obama's economic team, bombed when he delivered it during his monologue on Tuesday night, July 5.
"It was so hot today, people were as delirious and incoherent as a Florida jury," he said to begin the Casey joke, which was responded with a clap from the audience. He went on saying, "This [verdict] means President Obama's economic team is only the second most clueless group of people in America."
But the second line was met with virtual silence from "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" audience, prompting the 61-year-old comedian to turn to his band. "Is the mike off? I don't think they heard the joke," he said. He then repeated the groaner which was responded with a laugh this time.
"I don't get it," Leno continued his monologue with another joke about the controversial verdict. "Apparently, the O.J. [Simpson] jury was tired and they moved to Florida. When they read the verdict, even Casey Anthony went [does spit-take], 'What? What?' "
Casey Anthony, which was on trial regarding to the disappearance of her daughter Caylee in 2008, was found not guilty of murdering the 2-year-old girl on July 5. Some celebrities soon took to Twitter to express their disagreement. Kim Kardashian, for an example, wrote, "I am truly sick over the Casey Anthony verdict!"

How does anyone laugh at this garbage?
Sometimes the truth isn't very funny.
It wasn't a bad joke, just bad timing. The crowd just missed it...it was funny!
