Marie Osmond has remarried her first husband Stephen Craig. On Wednesday, May 4, the younger sister of Donny Osmond exchanged wedding vows with the former basketball player for a second time in a private ceremony at a Mormon temple in Las Vegas. She wore the same dress she wore at their first wedding in 1982.
Speaking of the dress, the 51-year-old told Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart, "I can't breathe, but I'm in it." She went on to share that the Ret Turner-designed gown actually was not her first choice. "I had a dress all designed [for this wedding] and when it showed up it was not [right]. I was so sad, I was actually kind of in tears," she explained.
On how she finally chose to go with the old dress, the "Paper Roses" hitmaker recalled, "I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff ... and it was this dress and it was five days ago. I'm not kidding. Isn't that crazy?"
Of the Wednesday wedding itself, Marie gushed it was "probably the most beautiful day I have had in I don't remember [how long]." She added, "Everything has been perfect and we just both can't believe it. We're so happy, and you know how you just know when something's right? Yeah."
Mary further explained that the date, she and Stephen chose, signified the birthday of her late son Michael and late mother. She said, "We chose this day, Mary, to kind of have Michael here as well. It's his birthday, and my mom's birthday, and I don't know, I just kind of feel like she's been on the other side just kind of making this thing happen."
Marie and Stephen first got hitched in 1982. They have a son together. After their divorce in 1985, the couple remained close. In her interview with ET, Marie spilled that it was their 28-year-old son that brought them back together. "It was our son who got us to kind of be back together," she said, "but [my husband] has been there for me and he's just my best friend, you know, and loves my kids."
