Mark Wahlberg is reportedly pitched to take on Brandon Lee's iconic role in another movie adaptation of "The Crow". According to Bloody Disgusting, the Oscar-nominated actor has been offered to portray main character Eric Draven in "The Crow", a remake of the 1994 film.

Previously, producer Edward R. Pressman said that they had begun looking for lead actor for the project. "[We've got an offer out] to a major actor," he said earlier this year, before adding "and things are moving ahead very aggressively, with the aim of doing the film this year."

Moreover, the filmmakers had chosen filming locating as Pressman stated at that time, "The setting is the southwest - the Mexico/Arizona area - and an urban [setting], Detroit or Pittsburgh or something like that. There are two locations that the film is set. Its initial platform is in the southwest and then it moves to the big city in the north, middle or eastern America, and then back."

Nick Cave was hired to rewrite the script with a draft from Stephen Norrington, who has also been attached to direct. The upcoming action thriller will follow a man brutally murdered coming back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancee's murder.

This is the most disgusting thing that hollywood could do. Brandon Lee died on the set of The Crow - and hollywood is going to remake it like nothing ever happened. They are basically taking his memory and stomping all over it. I will not go c the remake. Definately boycotting this movie. In loving memory of Brandon Lee

The Crow is a fantastic movie, why try to ruin it's memory with a new movie. The idiots are always on the prowl in Hollywood.

If the studio wants a well known actor, why not Johnny Depp? He is great at playing dark, moody characters and obvious name recognition.

Sorry Mr Wahlberg , but you are too old and to say it nicely too dull to play that iconic character. The original "The Crow" movie is perfect, it doesn't need a remake!

I actually like Mark Wahlberg as an actor (which is NOT saying that I like all of his movies!), but I have to agree with most of the posters on here in that I think that he is totally wrong for this role. Ignoring that fact that I have no desire to see anyone remake The Crow, (at least I'll always have the original) I think that there is some potential here, particularly with Nick Cave writing and the possibility that this movie might stick closer to the graphic novel. But Wahlberg? I just don't see it. I may be underestimating the guy, and if they go ahead and cast him, I certainly hope that I am, but I don't believe that I am. I haven't seen him in anything that suggests to me that he has the range necessary for this.

Please don't make a remake of The Crow... but if it comes to this movie, don't take Mark Wahlberg, he totally ruined Max Payne... Why don't take MARK DACASCOS, like in the Series I liked him!

Agreed, they need to think about who their core audience is. They'll be alienating all of us by casting someone with such a limited emotional scope; his main problem being that he plays Mark Wahlbern in every movie he does.

"Marky Mark" as Eric Draven? I don't see it. Not at all.

PLEASE leave The Crow alone, ya butchers! Hollywood is atrocious these days.

Remaking this show, no matter who the heck stars in it would be an incredibly massive insult to the Lee family, his fans and overall movie business...let this one be as it is guys or you'll discover a huge huge huge disappointment...let the crow RIP with Brandon Lee, i beg of you..

Wahlberg playing Eric Draven would be like Stallone playing Jack Sparrow. As for the previous comments, arent u ppl aware you'll still have the original movie to watch? Who gives a sh+t now, after they've sh+t upon it with like five sh+tty sequels.

Do not REMAKE The Crow. Take the original concept and create a new story. Leave the first one as is. It is damn near perfect (and one of my favorite movies). Recreating it verbatim is going to tarnish it.

Who came up with the insane idea to remake a CLASSIC!!! If this movie ever comes out I will f-ing boycott it. It's like you dismiss/sh*it on the death of Brandon Lee and think he let's see if we can milk out this concept a bit more. KEEP YOU'RE GRUBBY HANDS OF OF THE CROW!!!!!!!!

Forget about whether Wahlberg is in it or not, remaking the Crow is offensive. Could someone in the film industry PLEASE have an original idea?

One sure way to keep me from seeing a remake of The Crow? Put Wahlberg in it.
