The preliminary results of David Carradine's private autopsy have proven that the late actor died of asphyxiation, which is described as inability to breathe, and not suicide attempt.

AceShowbiz - New York-based forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden, who is hired by David Carradine's family to perform a private autopsy, has determined that the 72-year-old actor died of asphyxiation, which is described as a condition when someone is unable to breathe. Full determination of how David came to the condition will not be ready until at least a week.

"The cause of death was asphyxiation, an inability to breathe, now why that happened is still what we're working on," Dr. Michael confirms in a statement, adding that he rules out earlier assumption claiming David died of suicide attempt. "He didn't die of natural causes, and he didn't die of suicidal causes from the nature of the ligatures around the body, so that leaves some kind of accidental death," says Dr. Michael when stressing his theory that David did not commit suicide.

On the possibility of David being killed by someone, Dr. Michael says he is awaiting more information from Thai police before coming to any determination regarding that matter. "It takes time to finish a case sometimes, so it's not unexpected," says the medical examiner.

David Carradine was found dead in his luxury suite at Bangkok's Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel back on June 4. At that time his body was in the nude and was in a sitting position, with a yellow rope wrapped around his neck and attached to a closet bar. Local police initially stated he was dead of an apparent suicide.

In an attempt to refute the suicide theory, David's family hired Dr. Michael Baden to carry out a second autopsy. Regarding the preliminary results of the process, a representative for David's brothers claims the family has no comment.
