Jennifer Hudson's estranged brother in-law, William Balfour, was arrested Monday, December 1 in relation to the slayings of her mother, brother, and nephew.

AceShowbiz - William Balfour, the estranged brother in-law of Jennifer Hudson, was arrested Monday, December 1 in the murder case of the Oscar-winner's mother, brother, and cousin. The 27-year-old man is expected to be charged with three homicides.

"We have obtained an arrest warrant for William Balfour. He was released to Chicago detectives," Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond has confirmed. At press time, William is still pronounced as the only "person of interest" in the case, but hasn't been charged. Meanwhile, the authorities also have not yet confirmed on what evidence that leads to William's arrest.

William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson's sister Julia Hudson, was arrested on October 24, hours after the dead bodies of Jennifer's mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, and older brother Jason Hudson, 29, were found inside the family's residence, 7019 South Yale Avenue. He was held in custody for a parole violation, stemming from a previous attempted murder conviction, and was scheduled to have a hearing on Wednesday, December 3.

On October 27, Jennifer's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in a sport utility vehicle on the West Side. A handgun used in the slayings was found nearby. Declared as the sole suspect in the triple murder case, William however denied involvement in the murder of Darnell, Jason, and Julian, who's his stepson. He even refused to take a lie-detector test and stopped cooperating with detectives in the case. In fact, during a closed hearing last month investigators presented evidence that William had a gun matching the weapon used in the murders.

None of Jennifer's family members or the star herself has commented on William's arrest.
