Sam Tyler will meet the young version of his future mentor in 2008, Fletcher Bellow in the next episode of "Life on Mars". Although Fletcher does not recognize his future life and Sam, the mentor will collaborate with Sam and other detectives to investigate a murder case.
"Things to Do in New York When You Think You're Dead", will focus on the murder of an African American girl, whose body is found thrown from a rooftop. A racial confrontation will happen between the African Americans and Puerto Ricans in a neighborhood, regarding the suspicion toward a Puerto Rican as the suspect of the murder.
Sam, Fletcher, and the detectives of the 1-2-5 have to struggle hard and fast to find the real murderer, fighting the Black Liberation Army which has a will to hunt down the Puerto Rican suspect with their own way. They are in a race against time in order to prevent Angel Ramirez's chance to answer the crime.
Ironically, racial attitudes will also happen in his own precinct, involving Lt. Gene Hunt, Detective Ray Carling, and a dramatic standoff on the same rooftop, which leads into gunshots being fired.
"Things to Do in New York When You Think You're Dead" is scheduled to air on ABC, November 6 at 10/9c.
