Billie Piper gave birth to the infant, named Winston James Fox, via an emergency Caesarean section at 1 A.M. on Tuesday, October 21 after a 26-hour labor.

AceShowbiz - English actress and pop singer Billie Piper has given birth to her first child, a baby boy, at private Portland Hospital in London at 1 A.M. on Tuesday, October 21. Her actor husband Laurence Fox reportedly was by her side when she delivered the infant via emergency Caesarean section.

The baby boy is named Winston James Fox. He weighed in at 6 lbs., 11 oz. at time of birth.

Detailing on his son's birth, Laurence told reporters outside of the hospital that his wife Billie had been in labor for 26 hours before going to hospital. "The emergency Caesarean only took about 20 minutes," the new father said in a statement.

He then went on telling the press, "Billie is happy. Of course she is, she's a mum. I am tired but not as tired as her - I am a proud father. She has been cut apart, so [she'll] probably [be hospitalized] overnight. I will be with her for the length of it." And when being asked about his newborn son Winston, Laurence stated, "He is beautiful, he is sweet."

Billie and Laurence have been married since December 31 last year. Winston is their first child together. Previously, Billie was married to DJ and television presenter Chris Evans. The couple divorced in May 2007 and has since remained good friends.

Earlier in the day, Chris posted a message on his blog announcing the birth of Billie's son soon after paying her a visit at the hospital. "At the time of this writing, the little fella is not even fifteen hours old," so Chris wrote. "He is cute as you like and didn't cry once for the few minutes I was there which was just a few moments ago."
