The awards-winning British actress Emma Thompson is going to add another feature film to her writing resume. The "Nanny McPhee" star has been touted to write the script of a drama musical remake "My Fair Lady".
Having won an Academy Award for her screenplay in 1995 Jane Austen's novel adaptation "Sense and Sensibility", this job of scripting the George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion musical should not be a hard work for the depicter of Professor Sybill Trelawney in "Harry Potter" franchise. But, she admits to Parade magazine recently that the script won't be finished soon.
Giving a reason for the matter, the 49-year-old confessed that she doesn't use any word processor in doing the job. "I'm a Luddite, and I write longhand with an old fountain pen," so claimed the co-star of Will Ferrell in "Stranger than Fiction".
"My Fair Lady" is said to be a reboot of the 1964 musical movie of the same name starring Audrey Hepburn. It tells the story of a Cockney flower girl turned socialite named Eliza Doolittle. The Columbia Pictures' movie reportedly has acclaimed starlet Keira Knightley attached to the lead character. To be produced by Duncan Kenworthy and Cameron Mackintosh, it is slated for 2010 release.
