Lil Wayne, Sean Garrett and Teyana Taylor will perform at the annual event that sees a competition among unsigned artists.
Lil Wayne will be one of the guest stars at this year's BMI Unsigned Urban Showcase which will be held this Thursday, April 24. The event will see a competition among four unsigned artists who will showcase their talents in front of a panel of judges comprised of music industry icons.
More than 300 music acts have entered the contest earlier this year but only four made it through to the final. Contending for the prize this year are MC Jarren Benton from Atlanta, R 'n' B singer Brandon Hines from New York, genre transformers Holly Weerd from Atlanta, and rapper Trimm also from Atlanta.
Beside Wayne, new and upcoming artist Teyana Taylor and producer Sean Garrett will give performances during the show.
The batch of industry pros who will serve as judges are producers Don Vito, DJ Toomp, DJ Montay, Lil C 'C Gutta', Teddy Bishop, No I.D.; Universal Music Publishing Vice President Ethiopia Habtemariam; entertainment attorney Reid Hunter; Chrysalis Music Vice President Val Patton; entertainment attorney Sandra Brown; songwriters J. Que and Ezekiel "Zeke" Lewis; singer/songwriter Keri Hilson; lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns and Bad Boy Director of A&R and songwriter/producer Slam.
The annual event, which is entering its 11th round, will be held at Atlanta's Luckie Lounge, beginning at 9 P.M. Public above 21-years-old are allowed to come with $20 admission fee. There will also be the handing out of Legends of Atlanta Award for a community leader whose work has brought contributions to Atlanta music scene.
