Matthew McConaughey got hurt during fight training for his forthcoming film "The Grackle."
The movie hunk was on training for his role as a fighter in the New Line Cinema's comedy flick when he accidentally cut his face and ended up getting stitches.
Photos of McConaughey wearing a bandage over his left eye while riding in the passenger seat of a car were posted Monday, December 17 on the Website X17online. The shots, according to the site, were snapped last week after he delivered an eulogy at daredevil Evel Knievel's funeral.
McConaughey's representative, Alan Nierob, said in an e-mail Monday the actor had been doing "UFC training," which is based on the principles of Ultimate Fighting Championship, when the unfortunate took place. Nierob, however, did not know when and where the injury occurred.
On his upcoming starring role in "The Grackle," Variety said McConaughey's character "hires himself out for $250 to settle disputes for people who can't afford a lawyer" and "harsh language and quick fists are his weapons of choice."
