50th Annual Grammy Awards Shaping Up Early

Few plans including the announcement of venue and time for 50th Grammy Awards have been laid ahead whereby Quincy Jones acts as this year's ambassador.

AceShowbiz - Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy has an early start to plan the special number. The organization President Neil Portnow appointed music producer and one of the fore founders Quincy Jones to shape up the prestigious event.

A yearlong ahead, arrangement has been made for the opening of Grammy museum in September 2008. The building that will hold the event's memorabilia will be opened across Staples Center, the venue for the 2008 music event. Also among the announcement is the live broadcast of the award night which is taken over by CBS on Feb 10. The nominees meanwhile, will start spilling on December 6.

This year's Grammy is also receiving a new logo whereby numerous Grammy photos are comprised in a compound gramophone statuette. The logo is created by an impressionist mosaic expert Roy Feinson who substantially becomes the event's official artist.

Also present in the press release conference on May 8 was singer Joss Stone who is entitled to this year's R&B Performance by a Duo or Group Award but could not attend the ceremony. Portnow presented the golden gramophone and the red hair singer said, "It's wicked! I had no idea."

Announcement for the recipient of MusicCares Person of the Year Award followed after with the name pointed to diva Aretha Franklin. The award will be handed two days before the actual event. Jones the ambassador also gets his award on July 28. He will be receiving Grammy Foundation's Leadership Award for a lifetime of music and activism.
