The Academy Award-winning actor was just spotted with Thompson, dining late into the evening with friends at the swanky Villa D'Este resort.
What's more, the next day George took Thompson on a sunset boat ride around Lake Como. It is reported that Thompson stayed the night at Clooney's villa and left the next morning.
Are they dating? It still blur somehow for George also was spotted sharing a motorcycle seat with on-and-off girlfriend Krista Allen last week.
