The Matahdatah Scrolls are a series of short films that explore the intersection of music and film to create non-linear narratives and visual poetry. The first scroll, "Broader Than A Border," is a collaborative effort between British-Sri Lankan artist M.I.A. and director Romain Gavras. The film, released in 2019, is a visual exploration of borders and identity, inspired by M.I.A.'s song of the same name. It features a diverse cast of characters and locations, as well as a pulsating electronic score.
