Dave, Rex, and Vance each confront and cope with their respective partner's hogging their beds in their own ways: trickery, capitulation, and outright outrage.

Leigh and Rex are excited about their shared Saturday night plans with Rex's sister, Julia, and her husband, Dave. Rex has set up a wine cruise with some business partners. But, it turns out that Saturday is Dave and Julia's wedding anniversary, and the prospect of spending it with others is simply a non-starter. They step outside to devise an alternate plan: they propose a Friday night "game night" with Rex and Leigh and adding mutual friends Amy and Vance, Dave's childhood friend and current business partner. Julia's nonplussed about it all, but Dave explains that he'd already committed to spending Friday night with Vance - and it'll free up Saturday night for just the two of them.

Friday rolls around and Rex and Leigh arrive at Dave and Julia's house bearing wine, hors d'oerves and boundless enthusiasm. Vance and Amy arrive similarly excited - until Amy learns she's been duped by Vance. She has been led to believe she and Vance were going out dancing; the thought of playing games is simply too intimidating for her. But she downs some wine and gets into the spirit of the evening. Suddenly she begins kissing Vance passionately. The other couples pay little notice: Amy and Vance are one impulsive couple.

The charades-like games are underway and to her surprise, Amy is kicking butt with her teammate Leigh. But when Amy uses a reference to a guy who flirted in a bike shop with her as a clue, Vance's jealousy comes out with a furor, prompting a yelling match. Looking to clear the air, Amy blurts out a revelation that she slept with Dave ten years prior. The recriminations and accusations start flying, with both of them declaring ad naseum the names of people they've slept with. It deteriorates into a very loud and public fight, complete with screams and jewelry-throwing. As Vance declares he's breaking up and moving in with Dave and Julia, Amy storms out the front door.

The next day, Julia and Dave are all smiles as they celebrate the morning of their anniversary quietly over coffee. Things are starting to get just a touch romantic when Vance emerges from the spare bedroom wearing a purple silk robe and slippers. He's emotionally fragile. As they question him as to why he's wearing Julia's deceased mother's robe and slippers, Rex and Leigh pop in. They're filled with goodwill and ideas of how to get Amy and Vance to reconcile. But it all falls on deaf ears and Vance storms off. Unfazed, Rex and Leigh turn their attention next to the activities they've got planned for the night: Dave and Julia joining them on a wine cruise. Julia lovingly but firmly explains to her brother Rex that there will be no common plans for the night, nor for various other far-flung ideas Rex and Leigh have planned for them. She shows them the door. Of course there's still the matter of Vance.

While giving him a ride in to their work, Dave tries in vain to convince Vance that it's time to go back to Amy. Regardless of whether he returns to her, Dave tells his friend, Vance cannot stay at their house tonight. At the office, Dave remains firm. Feeling betrayed, Vance walks off, accompanied by sad music playing from his "Dave Betrayed Me" playlist.

Dave and Julia are ready for a night of romance; she models a revealing negligee given to them by Rex and Leigh. But before things can get too amorous, the phone rings. It's Vance, drunk, and calling from the bathroom of their assistant, Isabella. Vance explains that he went back to Amy and was rejected, so he turned to their office assistant for some companionship. Isabella of course rejected him and is disgusted by the drunken lout locked in her only bathroom. Dave hangs up on Vance; nothing will stand in the way of giving his wife a decent anniversary night. But Julia can't help it: unbeknownst to Dave, she goes to Isabella's house and lies on Vance's behalf to smooth things over.

Dave's shocked when Julia returns home with his drunken friend. Noticing Dave naked beneath the covers, Vance stars to upbraid Dave for being uncaring - just as Amy storms in with fire in her eyes. Moments later Rex and Leigh arrive, ready to mediate and get their mercurial friends Amy and Vance back together. Dave's had enough and tries to shoo them all out of his bedroom, upsetting everyone. Dave and Julia have a civil conversation downstairs and share their mutual disappointment about how they've handled the night. They decide they need to release their anger - and Dave's got just the venue. He takes Julia to a nearby house that's been slated for demolition and they lay into the walls with implements of destruction.

As Julia and Dave are enjoying their post-destructive catharsis, the phone rings. It's a jubilant Vance and Amy. They're engaged and en route to Paris to celebrate. Rex and Leigh burst in with celebratory cocktails and cigars. All's apparently well that ends well.
