Tyra steps in to mediate a spat between Billy and Tim at the grocery store. With that settled, Tim sends his brother home while he goes off with Tyra for a backroom tryst. And as things also heat up between Jason and Lyla, he stops her and asks if anything happened between her and Tim. She denies it.

Smash gets advice on steroids and makes another purchase, though he's shocked to discover that it's going to cost him $300 a week. He asks his mom for the money for an "SAT prep course," but she turns him down.

Matt gets flustered when Julie stops into the fast-food joint where he works to pick up dinner for her family. He asks her if she's made a decision about going on a date with him, and she replies that, "I'm considering it." Smash also shows up that night asking about a job.

Jason surprises everyone at the rehab facility by saying that he's ready to play rugby; however, no one else seems to agree. Phil reminds Jason that he can seriously hurt himself and lose the use of his hands forever.

A tearful Lyla confesses to Tami Taylor that she slept with Tim Riggins. Tami implores her not to tell Jason, "You wouldn't be telling him for him; you'd be telling him for you... you let him heal."

Matt watches in awe as Smash flirts with a pretty customer. Smash gives Matt some pointers on dealing with women. At closing time, Matt counts up the day's take as Smash looks enviously at the cash.

After Julie tells her parents that Matt asked her out on a date, Tami stops by her daughter's bedroom to have a talk with her, concerned that she may be pressured into doing something she doesn't want to.

Jason works out with Herc to get ready to play rugby, even though everyone, from Jason's doctors to his "cute little cheater" is telling him not to. Jason looks at Herc and tells him that, "she didn't cheat." Herc tells Jason that he knows Lyla is lying and pushes all of Jason's buttons. They clash in their wheelchairs, building in intensity until they both spill onto the floor.

Tim overhears his brother getting fired from yet another job. The incident turns into a full-blown argument as they get ready to head to the Taylor's for dinner. Over dinner, Taylor says that Tim has a shot at college ball if he keeps playing well. The conversation turns awkward when Tami starts asking about the Riggins' absent parents.

Using Smash's coaching, Matt tries to flirt with a cute customer, but it only goes so-so. Later, Smash asks about his paycheck and Matt tells him that he won't get a check until the end of the month. To overcome this, Smash dips into the cash drawer, but Matt catches him in the act.

Over a game of ping-pong, Taylor gives his daughter some harsh lessons about boys and how they really think. In interest of full disclosure, Julie later announces that she's decided to go out with Matt "at a time and place to be announced."

An argument between Tim and Billy over their lives, parents, and women turns into a knockdown drag-out fistfight. But it all comes down to one thing: Billy can't stand watching Tim throw his talent away.

Against everyone's wishes, Jason competes in a rugby scrimmage. At best, his performance is clumsy and unimpressive, but when he's knocked off his chair, he comes to life, showing strong signs of the old Jason Street.

Smash's mom comes through for her son. At church, the pastor asks everyone to chip in and donate money so Smash can take the SAT prep course. Instead, Smash takes the money and uses it to pay for more steroids.

After the game, Jason punches Tim in the face. "Get up... get up and fight me... you steal my girl, and you're not ready to fight me?" As Lyla screams at Jason to stop, Tim gets up and walks away. "You're a coward Riggins... always will be," Jason shouts after him. Lyla tries to talk with Jason, but he screams at her to go away, leaving him alone once more.
