Candace has been working as a waitress at a place called the X Bar. When she discovers that a Jane Doe was murdered there, she brings the case to the team without telling them she works at the club. She's still embarrassed about impulsively quitting her insurance job without a plan. With Lindsey out of town, the gang works out of Tyler's messy apartment. The victim was over 40 and found in a bar that caters to 20-somethings. She was found with a pair of orange gimmick glasses and a stamp on her hand. Time to track some leads!

The initials B.T. on the orange glasses stand for Big Time Records. The victim got them at a celebrity party she crashed two days before her death. She was tossed out of the A-list bash when she slapped basketball superstar Terrence King (guest star Baron Davis of the LA Clippers) in the face. King is a player both on the court and with the ladies. So Candace volunteers to get some info out of him at a book signing by using her feminine guile. It's a good plan. Of all the guiles out there, the feminine ones do seem to work the best.

As it turns out, Terrence King was just a bystander who got in the way as Jane Doe tried to talk to the DJ at the party. King remembers that the Doe told the DJ she was staying at the Finmore Hotel. Walter talks to a worker who said the victim was worried about her daughter. Her name: Wendy Scott.

Wendy's mother tells Alex and Russell that Wendy didn't have a daughter, though she'd been going to a fertility clinic. Wendy's mom didn't think her daughter should be trying to get pregnant, as she was 40 and single. A friend who was unsuccessfully attempting to be Wendy's sperm donor figured she found another way to have a baby when he saw her buying a crib. He says Wendy was all smiles the day he saw her.

The party DJ is a 19-year-old woman named Sarah Poole. Sarah met Wendy at the fertility clinic where her brother, James, works. Wendy was going to adopt Sarah's baby, but Sarah changed her mind. She had the lawyer who was setting up the adoption to give Wendy the news. When she showed up at the club, Wendy was only trying to make sure that Sarah was ready to be a mom. She was.

The baby's dad, Gavin, was against the whole adoption idea. He even threatened to kill Wendy if she didn't stop trying to take away his baby. Another suspect is the adoption attorney. Wendy had withdrawn $19,000 shortly before the adoption agreement was signed. Alex and Russell believe the money could have gone to the lawyer as part of a backdoor deal.

The lawyer is clean and he has an airtight alibi. That leaves the baby daddy. But he had no motive to kill Wendy once Sarah opted to keep the baby. Walter suggests they talk to James. He says, "If my own marriage is any indication, brothers don't always like the men their sisters marry." But Gavin alibis out. He was in San Francisco at the time of the murder.

Wendy ate breakfast at the diner across from the fertility clinic the day she met Sarah. A restaurant worker tells Alex that Wendy had let out a scream of joy when she discovered that she was finally going to get a baby. Alex asks if she was alone when she got this news. She wasn't. James Poole was there, too.

James was in debt up to his ears. He was brokering a $19,000 deal in which Wendy would get his sister's baby. Everything was fine until his sister decided to keep the baby. Wendy wanted her $19,000 back and confronted James at the X Bar. But James had already used the cash to pay off his debts. When Wendy threatened to tell Sarah about all that had happened, James killed her.

Candace breaks the news to Wendy's mother with some words about how courageous her daughter was. This motivates her to fess up to her own folks about quitting her job. It's one of several changes taking place, as Alex hears from Maxine Denver, who still wants to be part of the team, but needs time to deal with her brother's death. Finally, Lindsey breaks the news that she's moving to Pennsylvania. Alex wants her to call everyone to say goodbye. But Lindsey says this isn't goodbye, as she'll always be part of the Forgotten Network.
