"The Hotel Velone—We Make the Beds, You Make the Magic." Catchy slogan, right? Nora thinks it's cheesy. Nevertheless, she needs to read it for a radio spot advertising half-price rooms. Also, turndown service comes with a boat of strawberries in every room. That's all Dr. Karl needs to hear to inspire him to ask Nora to join him for a night of passion at the hotel. Purely for the Vitamin C of the strawberries, of course.

Luc is going to China for several months to paint a mural in Shanghai. Sarah wants to send him off in style, so she books a room at the Hotel Velone. Guess who she runs into at the registration desk booking one of those half-off rooms? When Dr. Karl hides the fact that he's meeting Nora, Sarah assumes he's sneaking around behind her mother's back. That's a huge problem for her since Nora really, really likes this guy.

As she's about to embark on her new career as college lecturer, Kitty is served coffee by a handsome, young barista named Seth. After a few minutes of flirting, Kitty is making out with this guy atop of the coffee beans. That must have been one great cup of java! Wonder how the coffee service is at the Hotel Velone because Kitty and Seth just snagged a room there, too!

Kevin is emotionally eating due to his nervousness over an upcoming interview with a social worker. He wants to make a good impression so there won't be any problems as he and Scotty try to adopt a baby. He's wolfing down everything in the kitchen, including someone else's brownie. Unfortunately, that someone else has a prescription for medical marijuana. Yes, that chocolaty treat Kevin ate is real a "baked" good.

If you thought Kevin was high-strung normally, you should see him after eating special brownies. He's a paranoid mess. Since the only person who can help him is Sarah, he and Scotty are off to the Hotel Velone. Think this place will offer a Walker family discount, too?

Kitty's new boy toy, Seth, has to skip out of the hotel room to pick up pizza and condoms—hopefully not at the same place. Meanwhile, Kevin had made his way up to his sister's room where Sarah tells him the S.W.A.T. team is in the lobby ready to hunt him down. This scares him back to lucidness. Smooth, Sarah. Real smooth.

Next, Sarah has scary words for Dr. Karl when she calls him to say he better not hurt Nora, who takes a ride up to her room in the elevator with Seth, who spills a couple of large sodas on her. When Nora comes out of the bathroom after getting cleaned up, Karl nervously changes his mind about spending the night with her. That call from Sarah really got to him.

Kitty freaks a bit when she learns Seth is a grad student at the school where she's teaching. It's an awkward conversation that ends when Seth leaves the room. Furious with Dr. Karl, Nora has exited her room, too. She shows up at Sarah's, where Luc provides a few words of wisdom after Karl texts a request to meet. He says, "Men can be heartless, I know. But most of us, we just act like fools. The better ones admit it." This is enough to convince Nora to hear the guy out.

When Scotty gets a call to say that their appointment with the social worker has been postponed, he and Kevin decide to head to Vegas for some alone time and no brownies. Sarah's night with Luc didn't work out as planned, but they make good use of the 20 minutes or so they have before his cab arrives. Kitty realizes she may have acted hastily with Seth, so she heads over to the coffeehouse to give him her number. He already has it stored in his cell phone favorites though. As for Nora…

The chat with Dr. Karl was well worth her time. He explains why he behaved the way he did. It's partially due to a bad experience he had with his ex-wife. But the real reason he was so nervous is because he's totally falling for Nora. A night at the Hotel Velone was just a little too much pressure. Nora suggests they just hang out at her house and see how it goes. Well, it goes into her bedroom. We didn't see any strawberries though.
