Wine of the Week: 2005 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley, CA - The wine festival, the quintessentially California experience. With Walker Landing and Ojai Foods on the brink of bankruptcy what better way to spend the afternoon than at a wine competition. Enter 'cheap' wine, Nora and her forty something doctor, and pregnancy blues and in interesting pairing we shall have! This calls for something a little more complex. Dating back to the mid 70's, Jordan winery has been making great Cabernet for over 30 years in California. Always approachable and always complex, the 2005 Cab is a knockout. Notes include red currant, cherry, blackberry and blueberry with a hint of vanilla from oak aging. Cheers!

Jane, the chairperson of the board at Ojai, wants to do a taste test of the new, cheap wine. Surprisingly, Saul loves the blend and wants to enter it in a wine festival competition. Sarah, who has been worrying that Luc is becoming more of an au pair than a boyfriend, offers his artistic services to create the label.

Luc says he doesn't paint on demand, but he'll do it for her. When Sarah pushes for a glimpse of Luc's work before it's done, he gets a little moody. Nevertheless, the label is impressive. Sarah later tries to soft sell Luc's services to a prospective client. When the guy tells Luc that Sarah is a good agent, the bummed out Frenchman responds, "Trouble is I thought she was my girlfriend."

Rebecca is six weeks pregnant. She's been desperately trying to get in touch with Justin, but he's swamped with med school. She finally confides to David that she's expecting a baby and he tells her she needs to tell Justin. But when he finally surfaces from his studies, Justin tells Rebecca he hopes she understands that there are going to be times when he can't be there for her. It's no surprise that she opts to not break the baby news. You know, Justin is studying to be a doctor. So we're thinking he'll eventually figure things out. Say in nine months or so?

Kevin and Scotty search for a prospective mother for their child. 138 women are vying for their sperm and they want pick the best prospect. The process of elimination is long and arduous, but a pep talk from Saul helps put things in perspective for Kevin. DNA will not determine how their child will turn out in life. That's up to the parents. And with Kevin and Scotty at the helm, we're thinking the kid's in pretty good hands.

Nora seems to be a little embarrassed by the fact that she's dating Simon, a much younger man. Nevertheless, she invites her Harley-riding oncologist companion to the wine festival. Nora is nervous at first but takes great pleasure in telling Jane all about her younger beau. But after a stranger mistakenly thinks Simon is Nora's son, she gets self-conscious once more.

Simon doesn't give a lick what anyone thinks. He accuses Nora of living in a bubble. She responds that just because she hasn't traveled the world like he has, it doesn't mean she hasn't lived. She has the scars of all those family dramas to prove it. Simon can't help but agree. Whew! For a moment there, we thought this thing might be over before it even got started. They kiss as the eyes of all the entire Walker family seem to watch them from the pictures that adorn the staircase. Nora says, "Let them watch."

Speaking of feeling self-conscious, Kitty is worried that Robert likes her new wig a little too much. She's afraid to take it off around him fearing that he won't think bald is beautiful. She finally ditches the wig and nervously awaits Robert's reaction. But he doesn't have one. In fact, he doesn't even seem to notice. It's obvious to us that Robert's affection for his wife goes way beyond the surface. Kitty now knows that, too.

David worries Holly may be getting ahead of herself about the potential success of the second-hand brand. But the new wine, Coastal Reserve, ends up winning an award at the festival. Everyone is ecstatic. Everyone but Ryan, who quickly places a call to the surreptitious Dennis York. This guy oozes sliminess. He pressures Ryan to find a way to get Coastal Reserve to crash and burn. So when Holly and Saul discover the devastating site of the entire supply of Coastal Reserve in a pool on the floor, we have a pretty good idea who the saboteur is.

Sarah wants to know if she truly has a partner in Luc. She's been down this road before feeling like she's only one taking responsibility. Luc asks, "Can't you just be happy." Sarah thinks that all sounds so naïve. Luc believes that she sounds cynical. Sarah knows that the baggage of her past is jeopardizing her future with Luc. But this realization comes too late. Luc has packed his bags and is heading back to France. Our hearts are breaking as he kisses Sarah goodbye and heads out the door. Could this be "au revoir" forever?
