Wine of the Week: 2007 La Fenetre Pinot Noir, Le Bon Climat Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley - I sometimes call Pinot Noir the Zen Master of wine grapes. It often walks that perfect balance between acidity and sweetness, Mineral and fruit, complexity and focus, Yin and Yang. It's this balance that makes Pinot Noir so great to pair with food, and also drink on its own. The 2007 Le Bon Climat from La FenĂȘtre boasts red fruit notes of Strawberry and raspberry with an earthy mid palate and a spicy finish. A special guest will arrive this week to shake things up... leave it to Walkers to find balance with the help of a little wine, and a delicious Mole!

Kitty and Nora hear a late night noise. Then Luc comes in saying he heard something as well. Someone is in the house. With French-like stealthiness, Luc makes his way into the kitchen and wrestles the intruder to the ground. But before Nora club him over the head with a broom he cries out, "Mom!" It's Tommy! He's back from Mexico and wants to know why there's a half-naked foreign guy in the kitchen.

Sarah, Justin and Kevin converge at Nora's house to catch up with Tommy, who seems quite mellow. All that vegan food and meditation has had a Zen affect on him. Nora suggests a family dinner and Tommy says that would be great. But judging by his squirminess, we're not so sure that's the truth.

Nora wants to fly Julia and Elizabeth down from Seattle to surprise Tommy. That's not going to happen. Julia told her that she and Tommy are getting a divorce and he hasn't spoken to Elizabeth in months. When Nora confronts Tommy about this, he tells her it's none of her business. Think Nora will go along with that?

At the family dinner, Nora can't help but steer the conversation toward Tommy's situation. He finally has no choice but to tell the rest of the family. The discussion goes south in record time. Tommy wants the entire family to back off, but Nora wants to fight to have a relationship with her granddaughter. Tommy goes off on a tirade about how no one can ever live up to Nora's expectations. He leaves the dinner table saying, "I can't wait to get the hell out of here."

Sarah is still searching for a way to tell her kids that she's dating Luc. But when Paige catches them sucking face, we're pretty sure Sarah's secret is out. A surprisingly mature Paige says she was wondering why a random Frenchman was hanging around her grandmother's house. She believes that if her mom really likes Luc, he should stay in their guest room, if that would be appropriate. Sounds tres magnifique to us!

Michelle is looking to do the surrogate mother thing, but things take an awkward turn when Kevin presents her with a contract regarding the pregnancy. This leads to tension between Kevin and Scotty, who really thought Michelle was the one who would carry their baby. At the end of the day, Kevin believes that, too. He begs Michelle to be their surrogate and she ultimately agrees. Time to start thinking about baby names!

Ryan steals copies of Holly's financial records and turns them over to William's old business partner, Dennis York, who plans to buyout Holly from Ojai. Holly, however, thinks the new line of discount wine will turn things around. Against Saul's wishes, Sarah goes for it but insists that she and Saul oversee the project. Later, York offers to buyout Holly and she rejects him. The guy is stunned and now we're thinking York is just going to find another way to infiltrate the company by utilizing Ryan, his little Ojai spy.

Kitty has a heart to heart chat with Tommy. She tells him that even if he can't work things out with Julia, Elizabeth still needs him. This seems to hit home. As Tommy packs up to leave, Nora begs him to give her a chance to get to know him. She also wants him to get to know her. She wants him to at least think about it when he gets back to Mexico.

But Tommy's not going to Mexico. He's headed north to Seattle. He wants to be near his daughter. He wants her to know that he's trying to fix his mistakes. Tommy promises to call as he heads out the door. Nora is left standing alone in the kitchen. It's a bittersweet moment to be sure. Nora is undoubtedly sad that Tommy has left again, but at least her son now seems to be headed in the right direction.
